DfT Publishes Low Carbon Transport: A Greener Future

On July 15th The DfT published a low-carbon transport strategy, its plans to cut 85 million tonnes of CO2 emissions from transport over the period 2018-22. Promotion of cycling, more high-speed rail and low-emission cars were part of the package put forward by Transport Secretary Lord Adonis.

Welsh Road Schemes Cancelled - Travel Plans are the Alternative

Two multi-million pound road projects for south Wales have been scrapped because of their costs. As part of the compensation measures to deal with increasing congestion, the Welsh Assembly Government has announced a programme of personalised travel planning across south Wales to help achieve sustained change in people's travel behaviour.

Car Club Could Take Thousands of Cars Off London’s Roads

A car club scheme launched this week will give Londoners and visitors to the capital the opportunity to hire all-electric and hybrid vehicles by the day, or even by the hour, and has the potential to take 8,000 cars off London’s roads by 2012.

Car Club Set to Electrify London

From this week, Londoners will be able to drive one of Europe’s first plug-in electric hybrid cars, the Amberjac conversion Prius, in a joint initiative run by car club Streetcar, Camden Council and Transport for London (TfL).
